Sunday Funday (post-work) menu: asparagus with applewood smoked bacon, jumbo lump crab cakes. Maybe another treat to come.
Had today off so I treated Mother to dinner after she arrived from Boston. This was my second time eating at locally acclaimed 8407. Frankly, the service left a lot to be desired, but the food was OK. I had the Bobo Farm Chicken Breast (with nettle and chicken sausage raviolo, dried olives, ricotta). Mother ate the House Smoke Trout (with fava bean hummus, grilled eggplant, cucumber, pear tomatoes).
First night out in I don’t know how long and I only lasted until 9pm. Went with a vanilla and bourbon shake.
Reward for going into work today: truffled penne with a sampler of whites and a garnacha to keep me warm.
